When Desire Desires
erasure no. 014
Woe be unto him whom desire has desired.
The prophets of Love lay violent hands, give them egress from all evil.
Every desire is a kind of worship. The heart is always giving itself to something, and in time it begins to bear the likeness of what it has chosen to love. Love does not merely condemn evil. It wrests the heart away from every false altar and gives it back to God.
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols.”
(1 John 5:21)
Every reader finds something different. What do you see?

Oh, to set our love upon God.
There is something really beautiful about your finding this through erasure, independent of the text, its the solvent quality of love, its violent hands finding through what presents itself as a fake altar, its own hands reaching too.
