Our Torn Hearts
beneath the remains of kings
Windswept
castles of sandstone
sweeping, surrounding
a heart now
a fortress rebuilt
through the eyes
of morning
breaking inside
and around
beneath the remains
of kings
impregnable power
violent
and barbaric
The wind spareth not the works of men, but passeth over stone and throne alike, and bringeth them low in their time. That which was called strong is worn, and that which was called impregnable is made as dust. Yet the heart, having endured such things, gathereth itself again and is rebuilt, not as it was, but as one made firm through trial. It is not the crown that endureth, but that which learneth to stand after it hath been broken.
“And after you have suffered a little while, [He] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:10)

It's so fun to see your creativity in different outlets. The art montage on this is lovely.
What wonderful work. I want to say “collage”. Intriguing.
